Welcome to Newport High School, home of the Grizzlies!  As a staff, we are dedicated to providing each student a quality, well-rounded education that includes the opportunity for engaging academics and diverse extra-curricular offerings that prepare them to be successful while in school, and after graduation.

Newport High School offers classes to meet the needs of all students.  For the 2018-19 school year, NHS has moved to a 5-period trimester schedule.  This schedule has allowed us to expand our elective offerings by over 20 courses.  Students are now offered CTE classes such as Construction, Fabrication, Leadership, Automotive Technology, Computer Science, Robotics, IT Repair, Media Broadcasting, Radio, Digital Media, Biomedical Sciences, Ceramics, Drawing and Painting, Intro to Art, Fire Science, Horticulture, and Environmental Science.  In addition to our traditional electives, we have added German, French, Drama, Creative Writing, Food and Fitness, and Bridge to College English/Math. Advanced and intervention courses such as, AP, EWU College in the High School, and Math/English interventions along with robust core offerings give students a strong foundation for success during and after high school.

We are excited about our focus this year on improving student attendance, helping our incoming freshmen reduce their failure rates, and becoming a "trauma-informed" school.  We welcome some new faces this year with with our increased enrollment and are excited to grow our grizzly family.

Working together, Newport High School will continue to be great and become a top rural high school in Washington State in all areas.  That is what our kids in Newport deserve and that is our goal. To achieve this, we believe that parent and community partnerships are essential.  We look forward to cultivating these relationships for the betterment of all kids.

Please stop by and say hello.  We are ready to do our part to make this                                                                                                                wonderful community and school an even better place. Here’s to a great 2018-19 school year!
