Congratulations to our HOSA students!!!
We are so proud of our Grizzlies, their involvement in the HOSA 5th Annual State Leadership Conference, and their commitment to learning. Also, we would like to give a heartfelt thanks to those of you that made it possible for these 17 students to attend this year's SLC, along with an additional thank you to the 14 Newport parents, NHS alumni, and Newport community members that assisted with facilitating a successful state conference for 1,400 HOSA Future Health Professionals.
Tessa Pierce, medaled in two events and has also been elected WA State HOSA Vice President of Region 1 (all of Eastern WA). She placed 1st in Pharmacy Science, a new event being piloted for HOSA, as well as 3rd place in Medical Reading.
Erika Moore placed 1st with HOSA Happenings (newsletter) and will also be representing our chapter by placing as an Outstanding HOSA Chapter with this year's reflection scrapbook.
Health Care Issues is an event in which students take an exam on current events in healthcare. The top 5 are recognized on stage, with the top 18 students from the state advancing to ILC. Newport students earned 9 of those seats. Advancing on are Robert Moss, who was recognized for 5th place, followed by: Adamae Holloway, Stephanie Huang, Brad McMeen, Erika Moore, Corinna Cauchy, Cydni Lewis, Kai Bowman, and Jessie Dillon.
